Solve.Care Partners with Leading Pharmaceutical Company Boehringer Ingelheim to Launch Care Network for Patients with Diabetes

The Diabetes Care Administration Network will provide patients and providers with information about diabetes and its associated risks, prevention, symptoms and care coordination using Solve.Care’s blockchain based platform

Tallinn, Estonia – June 6, 2019Solve.Care, a global healthcare platform which uses blockchain technology for the administration, coordination and payments of healthcare benefits, has announced a collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., to launch a patient-centric care network on the Solve.Care platform. The Diabetes Care Administration Network aims to improve the well-being of patients with diabetes, and who may also be at an increased risk for cardiovascular disease.

Despite recent medical advances, heart disease is still the number one cause of death for people with diabetes. Recent changes to treatment recommendations reflect the urgency in driving a fundamental change in how healthcare providers consider how they approach the care of people with type 2 diabetes. The Diabetes Care Administration Network will help raise awareness about the diabetes and heart disease link, as well as encourage engagement between patients and providers to proactively address diabetes and associated cardiovascular complications. The network will use Care.Wallets, a proprietary tool created by Solve.Care, to support patients managing these dangerous and debilitating chronic conditions and help them optimize and coordinate care with their families and physicians.

Commenting on the collaboration, Pradeep Goel, CEO of Solve.Care, said: “The Diabetes Care Administration Network will help bridge a knowledge gap by providing a platform which offers vital information on diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in an easily accessible manner. This is invaluable in the healthcare ecosystem as it allows patients to gain a better understanding of their disease while also coordinating their care needs.”

Initially, the network will be available to more than 25,000 patients through Arizona Care Network (ACN), a leading accountable care organization in the U.S. and a current client of Solve.Care. ACN will provide concierge care management and support care coordinators, with the goal of achieving better healthcare outcomes for participating patients. Based on the results of this initial launch, expansion opportunities in the U.S. and globally will be evaluated.

“Solve.Care is delighted to announce the introduction of this groundbreaking network onto our platform which will help address one of the most debilitating diseases afflicting millions of men and women around the world. Boehringer Ingelheim is a global leader in innovative solutions that bring more health to patients and we are honored by their trust and multi-year commitment to launching one of the most innovative patient-centric networks in the world,” Pradeep Goel continued.

“We are proud to join Solve.Care and the Arizona Care Network to provide patients and providers with additional solutions to help address diabetes and cardiovascular disease,” said Graham Goodrich, vice president, Cardiometabolic Marketing, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. “Recent changes to diabetes treatment recommendations have prioritized managing cardiovascular risk, and this program will help ensure both patients and providers are proactively addressing life-threatening cardiovascular complications associated with this chronic condition.”

A very important and innovative element of the platform and the Diabetes Care Administration Network is the ability of family members to coordinate the care of their loved ones. It is not just the patient, but the community around and chosen by the patient, that is engaged and empowered to make important choices in how and when care is coordinated and provided.

The care network is expected to go live on or before year end 2019.

Pradeep Goel, CEO of Solve.Care and Graham Goodrich, vice president, Cardiometabolic Marketing of Boehringer Ingelheim are available for interview.
